Internet Telephony & Communications Solutions
Select Three InnoMedia San Jose, CA - January 3, 2001 - InnoMedia, Inc., a leading supplier of Internet telephony appliances, business solutions and services, announced today that its InfoTalk® V, Sega DreamCall and InfoTalk LAN products were designated as "2000 Products of the Year" by Internet Telephony® and Communications Solutions magazines, respectively. The Technology Marketing Corporation (TMC) awards are designed to honor innovative products and services that have made a positive impact on the convergence of voice and data. TMC will post the award winners on its website, and will also publish the complete results in the January issues of Internet Telephony and Communications Solutions magazines. "We're very excited to confer Product of the Year honors on three offerings from InnoMedia," said TMC President and Group Publisher Rich Tehrani. "InnoMedia's innovative approach to developing the VoIP market exemplifies what we strive to reward with our program - not just introducing new products, but helping grow IP telephony with new concepts such as multi-language interfaces and live voice communications for gamers worldwide," Tehrani added. Editors at Internet Telephony honored the InfoTalk V in the "Internet Telephony Appliance Category." InfoTalk V is a stand-alone Internet telephony appliance incorporating the latest technologies for high quality Internet telephone calls and a multi-language user interface, including English, Chinese, and Spanish. Without requiring a personal computer, InfoTalk V seamlessly and transparently routes long distance calls over the Internet. By simply connecting the InfoTalk V between their normal analog telephone and the wall jack, users are able to place calls anywhere in the world at very low rates, via InnoSphereô, InnoMedia's global IP network. Internet Telephony also recognized Sega DreamCall, powered by InnoMedia's voice-over-IP (VoIP) technology, in the "Innovative Product and Services Category." Sega DreamCall allows Sega gamers to use their Dreamcast gaming console to place Internet telephone calls and speak with any other Sega DreamCall gamer in the world for free, bypassing long distance toll charges. Sega DreamCall users can also call any phone in the world at low rates via InnoSphere. The VoIP-enabled Sega DreamCall enables online gamers to communicate more naturally by voice rather than online "chatting." Communications Solutions, Internet Telephony's sister TMC publication, selected the InfoTalk LAN in its "Corporate Solutions/Communications Systems Category." The InfoTalk LAN is a LAN-based version of InfoTalk V, enabling broadband users to place and receive high quality Internet calls at little or no cost. InfoTalk LAN shares most of the value-added features of InfoTalk V, and comes with an RJ-45 10 Base-T connector for easy connection to office LAN and cable/DSL modems. "InnoMedia is honored to be acknowledged in both Communications Solutions and Internet Telephony's Product of the Year awards," said Robert Selzler, vice president of marketing for InnoMedia. "Both publications have reputations for being among the industry's best resources for evaluating and showcasing leading-edge technologies, products and services." Selzler also noted that these three TMC awards bring InnoMedia's industry accolades to 18 to date. Among them was a "Best of Show" award at the TMC's INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference & EXPO 2000ô in October 2000.
