Living Communities Equipped with InfoView Personal Videophones Allow
Residents to Receive Video Valentines from Faraway Loved Ones
San Jose, CA — February 14, 2000 — InnoMedia Inc.™, a leading supplier of Internet telephony, videoconferencing, and wireless data communication products and services for the home and office, announced today that senior housing innovator Aegis Assisted Living of Redmond, Washington has equipped all their communities with InfoView™ videophones. Now senior residents and their loved ones can have virtual visits even if they are separated by thousands of miles.
InfoView is a personal videophone that ties together a regular television and a standard telephone with no computer needed. No special phone lines or additional fees are required.
With one unit in the "Family Room" at each Aegis community and another unit at a resident's loved one's home, families can easily and routinely make video calls to stay connected. Aegis staff members can also use camcorders and digital cameras to capture major events and milestones, which can then be relayed over standard phone lines using InfoView's external camera input.
