INNOMEDIA TO PROVIDE TURNKEY INFOGATE IP TELEPHONY
GATEWAY SOLUTIONS FOR THE PREPAID CALLING CARD MARKET
Pre-configured
systems and advanced billing capabilities target growing industry
SANTA CLARA, CA -- January 5, 1999
-- InnoMedia has expanded its InfoGate IP Telephony Gateway
family of products with three turnkey solutions and optional billing software,
designed to speed deployment
of voice-over-IP to the prepaid calling card market. The company now offers
single-node, two-node and
24-line systems loaded into pre-configured Pentium PCs, streamlining the
network installation process.
"In providing reliable and highly-scalable VoIP turnkey systems, InnoMedia
is able to accelerate the
process of deploying a voice network and launching a prepaid business,"
said Jay Blazensky, Director
of Marketing for InnoMedia. "We developed these three solutions for customers
needing a simple and
efficient means of connecting to a network and generating revenue."
Additionally, the company announces that it will offer advanced billing
software that allows prepaid
operators to apply unique billing plans with flexible call rating schemes
based on the source and
destination of a call, and the time of day or day of the week. "By providing
our customers with real-time
cutoff based on dollars or minutes expiration, we ensure the integrity
of their service and increase their
revenue," said Blazensky.
The turnkey InfoGate system solutions are designed for companies selling
prepaid calling card services,
corporations seeking to lower long-distance costs and Internet Service
Providers interested in expanding
into voice services.
The system level solutions include:
- Pre-Configured Network Starter System,
a three-PC package containing all the hardware and
software required to implement a two-node VoIP gateway. It includes
two PCs configured with
InfoGate cards and gateway software, each supporting four analog ports
and expandable to 24
ports, plus a third PC with InfoGate's Gatekeeper management system
and associated database
software.
- Pre-Configured Single Gateway System,
a one-gateway solution designed to make it fast and
easy to add nodes to an existing VoIP network. It includes a four-port
InfoGate card and gateway
software fully installed in a PC,
with easy expansion up to 24 ports.
- 24-Line Turnkey Gateway Solution, a pre-configured
system designed to connect to a T1 digital
interface for customers with high-density requirements. It includes
six InfoGate cards, each
accommodating four ports, loaded into an integrated rack mount PC system
and bundled with a
T1 channel bank.
All Windows NT gateway systems include 233
MHz Intel Pentiums with 64MB memory, a 1.44MB
floppy disk drive, a 2GB hard drive and a 32X CD-ROM drive in a heavy
duty steel mini-tower chassis.
A 10/100BaseT network interface, PCAnywhere32 for Remote Support and dual
hot swappable 250W
power supplies are also included. The Gatekeeper PC in the Network Starter
System utilizes a
266 MHz Pentium II processor and expanded memory. Each of the system products
will be available
in the first quarter of 1999.
About InfoGate
The InfoGate system is a high-quality, low-cost voice-over-IP solution
engineered to provide voice
quality, reliability and scalability not previously available in an analog
solution. The system
architecture substantially lowers the costs of implementation, paving
the way for faster penetration
of VoIP in the marketplace.
Each InfoGate system is composed of a four-port ISA voice processing card
plus Gateway and
Gatekeeper software, all designed and manufactured by InnoMedia. The centralized
gatekeeper
eases management by maintaining a registry of every gateway, assigning
PIN numbers, maintaining
least-cost routing tables, keeping a complete call activity log, providing
ODBC-compatible output to
any standards-based database or third-party billing package to facilitate
billing, and permitting software
upgrades for all nodes to be performed at a central location.
Every system ships with a fully integrated Interactive Voice Response
system with a powerful GUI to
allow for complete customization, plus support for prepaid calling cards
through ODBC-compatible call
detail records and real-time cutoff based on minutes expiration.
The product's dynamic bandwidth allocation automatically adjusts audio
parameters to optimize voice
quality while maximizing the number of calls that can be supported over
a limited bandwidth. Advanced
packet loss recovery and echo cancellation techniques minimize latency
and optimize voice quality.
On-board dedicated DSPs ensure efficient speech processing while minimizing
host CPU utilization,
resulting in an increase in the number of boards that can be supported
in a single system.
The system is H.323 compatible, allowing for future interoperability with
third party gateway and client
software suppliers. It supports redundancy at the Gatekeeper, gateway
site and gateway card levels to
eliminate any potential single point of failure.
