MARKET TRIAL TO DELIVER VOICE OVER CABLE NETWORK
Hong Kong, Singapore and San Jose, CA - January 21, 2002 - i-CABLE Communications Limited (HK: "iCABLE" 1097;Nasdaq:ICAB), InnoMedia™ Pte Ltd and Cybersys Computer Ltd today jointly announced the launch of a market trial to deliver Voice-Over-Internet-Protocol (VoIP) phone service via i-CABLE's cable network. InnoMedia is a leading supplier of Internet and broadband access IP telephony solutions while Cybersys is a multimedia over Internet protocol solution provider.
The market trial will target 45,000 households initially in selected areas throughout Hong Kong to pave the way for i-CABLE to roll out the service commercially before the end of this year.
In the project, InnoMedia will provide i-CABLE a complete H.323 broadband voice solution that enables the cable provider to offer its subscribers an alternative phone service, and the potential to offer value-added services via the cable network. Cybersys, InnoMedia's strategic partner based in Hong Kong will provide the technical maintenance and logistical support for the project.

Users need simply to connect any regular phone set to the InfoTalk device to make regular phone calls to any standard phone in Hong Kong. The solution is also scalable to provide other value-added services such as e-mail notification, messaging and e-commerce.
