Solution Geared to Enhance Communications and
Productivity While Reducing Costs
Singapore and San Jose, CA - February 19, 2002 - InnoMedia™ Pte Ltd, a leading supplier of Internet and broadband access IP telephony solutions and Blumice International P/L, a Technology and Application Service Provider specialising in management software, today jointly announced the launch of a trial to provide an IP Videoconferencing solution to the Supreme Court and law firms in Singapore. Under the terms of the agreement, InnoMedia will supply its award-winning IP VideoPhone product while Blumice will execute the project, including managing the technological, implementation and marketing aspects.
The Supreme Court has deployed the InnoMedia IP VideoPhone on a pilot basis for matters heard in chambers before a registrar, in particular, ex parte cases, including Pre-Trial Conferences. With such a facility, lawyers can "appear before the court" right in the comfort and convenience of the law firm's premises. In addition, legal procedures that usually require lawyers to personally appear before the registrar in chambers such as requests for early hearing dates can now be undertaken by using the IP VideoPhone. This in turn increases productivity, made possible by the reduction in travel time and litigation costs, as lawyers no longer need to be physically present at the courts. Some of the leading law firms who have signed up as trial participants include Allen & Gledhill, Drew & Napier LLC, HelenYeo & Partners and Lee & Lee.
